 I would like to use this opportunity to make you aware of a new internet forum dedicated to the Cavalier (in German) called "Cavaliere von A - Z". It is the first forum created by VDH breeders for breeders, stud dog owners and anyone who loves cavaliers. As such it offers a unique opprtunity to share amongst cavalier crazy peers.

In the forum you will find general information about cavaliers, club events, dates of all the VDH dog shows featuring cavaliers, the newest show results from Germany and around the world, profiles of people and dogs who have furthered the development of the breed. Information about grooming, health care and feeding cavaliers. Tips of training are readily offered.

Our team of moderators includes a vet and experienced breeders who are more than happy to give help on any question about cavaliers.

Today 5 years ago, a little girl puppy was born in Holland who was later to be known as Mariet. Three and a half years later this little girl was all grown up and moved to us to Berlin. Mariet is not just a beautiful girl, but a charming one who is the cuddliest girl I have ever known, and who can also be the most friendly and temperamentful especially if food is involved. Yesterday we celebrated Mariet's birthday one day early at the show in Zielona Gora Poland. There we had the great fortune to meet Tobiola who is Mariet's daughter and sister to our own Tabouli. Tobiola ist just like her mother from her looks and temperament and has a special place in our heart. All girls had a successful show day with Mariet winning the ticket in the champion class, and Tobiola winning the ticket in the intermediate class with her sister our Tabouli being the runner up. It was wonderful to see the two sisters together with their mother, and we continue to wish Tobiola much joy and success with her owners. Thank you Mariet for giving us all these wonderful little girls and simply for being you our Mette Mooie.

This year we have attended very few shows, and as we have had very few photos we did not think it worth reporting about them. This weekend it was different though. We had a lovely time at the County Winners Show in Pritzhagen with 42 entered cavaliers - and have the photos to prove it, plus it was the very first show experience of little Scotty (Hazelhope's Absolute Cracker Jack). Scotty was entered in the puppy class being only 4 months and two weeks old he was the youngest contender but made up for his age with unbridled enthusiasm. He was evaluated as very promising (the highest evaluation) and made 4th place. Here Scotty looking innocent in one of the few moments he sat still:

Next up was Tabby who aged 18 months started in the intermediate class (entry 5). Judge Joachim Weinberg thought very highly of Tabby and awarded her first place and her second ticket towards the title "German Champion". Here Tabby in action:

Next up was Mariet who started in the champion class (entry 2). Again Mr Weinberg was very pleased with Mariet and awarded her first place. Here Mariet strutting her stuff and enjoying her day out:

So it came that mother and daughter were competing with the winner of the open class for the title Winner Berlin/Brandenburg (awarded to the best adult bitch). We were delighted that the title went to Tabby who gained her first big win leaving 13 other bitches behind her. Well done princess Tabby Toes! Thanks to judge Joachim Weinberg and to Markus Kirschbaum for their nice comments about our girls!

Nigie ist very happy, her little son "Scotty" is visiting, at last someone to have a rough and tumble with. Tabby (Tabouli) thinks Scotty is great at tug-of-war.

A few days ago Mariet and Macadees babies born in January 07 turned one year old. Born and raised in the van het Lamslag kennel, many of these girls have had an exciting first year. Ticoya lives in Canada and completed her Canadian Championship in record time. Tunice and Timone are loved and cared for in the States, where they are preparing for their show careers.
